The Rapture

DEBUNKING THE LIES OF THE PRE-TRIB RAPTURE THEORY

This is a touchy subject for many, but the truth of the Word MUST be put out there. For those who don’t do their own studies and merely follow misguided teachers, this is a much needed truth that needs to get out there. There’s a reason why Jesus told us FIRST AND FOREMOST “DO NOT BE DECEIVED.” It is my belief that this “theory” is one of the great deceptions of the last days.

Let’s go through the lies of this theory and what scripture REALLY SAYS.

1. CHRISTIANS WILL NOT HAVE TO ENDURE THE TRIBULATION PERIOD.
Wrong. The word tribulation in (KJV) scripture is used 22 times. Each definition in Hebrew AND Greek translation means:
– affliction
– pressure
– trouble
– distress
– a pressing together

The word “tribulation” is used to describe the persecution of believers. The time of “tribulation” in the last days is a time of great persecution of Jews and Christians; it is NOT God’s wrath.

ONE MUST SERIOUSLY ASK HIM/HERSELF THIS QUESTION REGARDING THIS THEORY: WOULD GOD KILL HIS OWN CHILDREN? OR IS THAT SOMETHING SATAN WOULD DO? SO IS THE TIME OF TROUBLE GOD’S WRATH? OR SATAN’S REBELLION? AND WHICH IS PART OF THE 7 YEAR PERIOD?

As you all know, we are not meant for God’s WRATH – and God’s wrath has NOTHING to do with the “time of trouble” the Bible describes. The time of trouble is Satan’s wrath on God’s people, God’s wrath is AFTER, when Satan has stirred up His wrath THROUGH his killing of God’s people.

GOD HAS A LIMIT (UNTIL HIS WRATH IS PROVOKED) AS SEEN IN THE FIFTH SEAL OF REVELATION:

Fifth Seal: The Cry of the Martyrs

9 When He opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of those who had been slain for the word of God and for the testimony which they held. 10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, “How long, O Lord, holy and true, until You judge and avenge our blood on those who dwell on the earth?” 11 Then a white robe was given to each of them; and it was said to them that they should rest a little while longer, until both the number of their fellow servants and their brethren, who would be killed as they were, was completed.

Because God is JUST, He is seeking a certain amount of EVIDENCE so to speak against Satan to bind him for 1,000 years. When that amount of evidence is reached, THEN God’s wrath is put forth, and not until.

2. THE LIE OF CHRISTS “IMMINENT” RETURN
Wrong again. Jesus Himself told us of things to watch for – signs in the heavens, signs of things happening on the earth. We are even told in scripture that the “Son of Perdition” must first be revealed and the falling away must happen even prior to that:

“Now we beseech you, brethren, by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and BY OUR GATHERING TOGETHER UNTO HIM,
That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand.
Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall NOT come, except there come a falling away FIRST, AND that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;
Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshiped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, showing himself that he is God.”
-2 Thessalonians 2:1-4

3. THERE WILL BE NO SIGN OF CHRIST COMING TO GET US
Pre-Trib rapture theory believers will tell you that in one second of time – POOF! – we will all be gone and that there is NOTHING that will be revealed prior to our being “taken up”. Is this how God/Jesus has worked in the past? Did Noah suddenly disappear off the face of the earth when God’s wrath came down in flood form? Did Lot suddenly disappear when Sodom and Gomorrah was destroyed? Did Jesus’ ascension into Heaven happen like a vanishing act? Or did multitudes see Him ascend into the clouds?

God isn’t a god of secrets. He makes Himself known loudly, and clearly so as NO ONE can mistake Him for who He is. Trumpets, thunder, lightning, signs in the heavens and on earth….God has never acted silently and mysteriously when coming to His followers; not ONCE in scripture have we seen that.

“Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.”
-Matthew 24:29-31

4. WE WON’T KNOW WHEN HE WILL RETURN FOR US
Tis true, we may not know the exact day or hour, but we are told to WATCH and BE READY. If we aren’t to know the SEASON per say, why would we be told to watch?

“But of the times and the seasons, brethren, ye have no need that I write unto you.
For yourselves know perfectly that the day of the Lord so cometh as a thief in the night.
For when they shall say, Peace and safety; then sudden destruction cometh upon them, as travail upon a woman with child; and they shall not escape.
But ye, brethren, are not in darkness, that that day should overtake you as a thief.
Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.
Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.”
-1 Thessalonians 5:1-6

We are told in the above verses more signs to watch for; the enemy saying “peace and safety”. It also tells us that we are NOT in darkness, that we WILL know the signs of His return. The Parable of the Fig Tree told in Matthew, Mark and Luke also lets us know that we WILL know the signs of the end and of His return.

5. THE 1 THESSALONIANS 4 LIE:

The Comfort of Christ’s Coming
13 But I do not want you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning those who have fallen asleep, lest you sorrow as others who have no hope. 14 For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so God will bring with Him those who sleep in Jesus.
15 For this we say to you by the word of the Lord, that we who are alive and remain until the coming of the Lord will by no means precede those who are asleep. 16 For the Lord Himself will descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of an archangel, and with the trumpet of God. And the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 Then we who are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And thus we shall always be with the Lord. 18 Therefore comfort one another with these words.

The above verses are often used by PTRB’s to ‘prove’ their theory. These verses in context tell us that Jesus WILL RETURN FOR US with the dead in Christ in toe, that it won’t be a simultaneous event of the dead in Christ and us being pulled up at the same time. He is first with the dead in Christ, meaning they will be pulled up at Christ’s second coming, but before us. These verses (ironically) also tell us (again) that Christ returning for us will not be a quiet event;”with a shout, the voice of an archangel, and with a trumpet of god”. So how can PTRB’s say it will be a silent, sudden event?

IN CLOSING
I could go on and on with scripture about how the Pre-Trib rapture theory just doesn’t match what the bible says, but this is a blog, not a book. There are MANY false teachers out there teaching lies about scripture. We must be vigilant in our own studies, taking the time to know HIS truth, not the wishes of the confused and lost who are teaching and sharing for profit. You won’t find that here on this blog. I will NEVER ask you for money, donations, or anything of the sort because we are not to profit from His Word. Please take that into consideration when listening to others. There’s a difference between asking for a tithe, and asking people to buy books, dvd’s, etc to promote one’s fame and fortune.

Furthermore, I would suggest to all Pre-Trib Rapture believers to do the research on where the theory came from. You might be shocked to find out where it came from and even possibly question it’s satanic origins.

I’m sorry if this blog offends others, but my fear is that those who believe in this theory will be disappointed and fall away BECAUSE of this lie, which would be EXACTLY what Satan would want.

Matthew 24: The Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant
45 “Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his master made ruler over his household, to give them food in due season? 46 Blessed is that servant whom his master, when he comes, will find so doing. 47 Assuredly, I say to you that he will make him ruler over all his goods. 48 But if that evil servant says in his heart, ‘My master is delaying his coming,’ 49 and begins to beat his fellow servants, and to eat and drink with the drunkards, 50 the master of that servant will come on a day when he is not looking for him and at an hour that he is not aware of, 51 and will cut him in two and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites. There shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.

Take care of yourselves out there, prepare your houses, keep your oil and your lamps READY. Time is short….KNOW the times, KNOW the Scripture, WATCH and BE READY. Things will get a whole lot worse before they get any better.

Daniel 12:11-13
11 “And from the time that the daily sacrifice is taken away, and the abomination of desolation is set up, there shall be one thousand two hundred and ninety days. 12 Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.
13 “But you, go your way till the end; for you shall rest, and will arise to your inheritance at the end of the days.”

Peace can be found in Him and Him alone. If you haven’t found Him yet, and aren’t living your life FOR HIM, but for yourselves, please, ask Him to come into your heart. Instead of praying and asking Him to do things for you, start asking Him what you can do for Him. Amen?

Peace to you all, today and every day.

  1. I’m a pan tribber, I know that the Lord has me and my family in His hands and whether we are taken pre-trib, mid-trib, or post-tribulation is not in any of our control. As Jesus
said to the Apostles before ascending, it is not for you to know times and seasons which the Father has set by His own authority. Our job is to love God, love people, and make disciples. I believe that it will, therefore, all pan out in the end.

    1. Thank you for your comment Tony. I only have one clear and short rebuttal – our “job” is whatever the Lord calls us to do, and that can be many different things depending on our gifts, skills, and calling – not what we “interpret”, but what He tells us in our personal relationship with Him. Have a blessed day. ❤

      1. TY for the blessings Bob, and the post. I haven’t tired, I just haven’t had much urging to write anything for awhile. I rely on the Lord for that and it’s been pretty quiet. Our lives have been in an uproar since May, but things are quieting now so hopefully I will get more posts out soon! ❤ God bless ya!

    2. I just read your blog today 17 February 2019, about the false silent rapture theory. .and noticed there are Loads of people on YouTube having “rapture dreams”. These people will end up with egg on their face when no rapture takes place. They forget that Daniel 7:21 says ” the same horn made war with the SAINTS & prevailed against them. .” The human brain is addicted to a mental disease called “wishful thinking” – and this is the true source of their rapture dreams.

      1. Here is a dream I had about the rapture, take a look at it and pray about it and see what the Lord tells you.

I had a dream, 05/24/2012, and in the dream, I saw Jesus standing with a winnowing fork in His hand. A winnowing fork is what is used to separate the wheat from the chaff like John the Baptist describes in Matthew 3:12 and Luke 3:17. However, in this case I did not get the sense in the dream that this had to do with final judgment bur rather had to do with who would be taken and who would be left behind. I saw in the dream the rapture occurring and I saw people in two’s as is described in Matthew 24:40-41 where it talks of two men in the field, one taken and one left and two women with a hand-mill, one taken and the other left. In the very next verse Jesus gives a warning that must be heeded by all which is to be watchful because you do not know the day not the hour of the Lord’s return, As I previously stated, I saw people in two’s as the rapture occurred and as the ones being taken began to ascend towards heaven, those being left behind grabbed onto their shoes, I saw tennis shoes on those being taken and am not quite sure of the meaning, because they knew what was happening and that they were being left behind. The last thing that I heard was Luke 21:36 being quoted, ” WATCH THEREFORE AND PRAY ALWAYS THAT YOU MAY BE COUNTED WORTHY TO ESCAPE ALL THESE THINGS THAT WILL COME TO PASS, AND TO STAND BEFORE THE SON OF MAN.”

  2. Tony, I don’t question there is going to be a rapture…I KNOW there is. The question remains amongst believers “WHEN”. In order to understand the rapture IN CONTEXT, one needs to really buckle down and study the end times prophecy written in Daniel, Ezekiel, Isaiah, Revelation, and of course Jesus’ own words about the last days written by the apostles. When you study ALL OF IT, the picture becomes clear of what is going to transpire in the last days which we are vastly approaching. End times prophecy has been my calling. I study it like mad. I see no where that a PRE TRIB rapture is even remotely possibly based on scripture, yet many believe they will be found righteous enough to escape all things of the last days, not fully understanding which part of that is God’s wrath, and which part is something else.

I too had a dream back in the early 90’s and the revelations of that dream have been brought forth today (in the last few years for me.) I dreamt I was living in a red brick building with cast iron railings by the doors from the 70’s. I’m now living in such a building. In this dream, the moon was pulsating as if about to explode. I saw people walking in vigils on the streets with candles lit, singing hymns. The moon then exploded into a gazillion stars and immediately afterward, a nuclear bomb was seen going over head here in America straight north. And then I woke up, terrified. I’ve also had dreams of flying around NYC, following a nuke that was aimed at the city. Our dreams could be many things – of God, or of our imaginations based on our knowledge of the last days. Many Christians have had dreams of America on fire. Many Christians have had dreams of destruction in America and then angels show up at their doors gathering them while the nation is burning. We simply do not know. I don’t put much faith in our dreams when it comes to the last days because many have had them, and they are all different. Many will have dreams about a tsunami hitting the east or west coast. Look up “end times dream” or “rapture dreams” on YouTube…you will hear all sorts of different stories. I think we need to focus on what scripture says more than our dreams. Satan can deceive us in many ways.

  3. All of this is true but I know that God does speak in dreams and visions. In fact, the book of Joel as does Acts says that in the last days we will have dreams and visions. I take dreams before God and bounce them off of people who I know I can trust. Dreams and visions are a way God uses to tell us of the future, reveal mysteries in His word, or guide us. Being that I have them every couple of days, I don’t think the are from the pepperoni pizza I had before I went to bed. I agree that dreams can come from many sources including our own imagination which is why it is imperative to seek the Lord for His interpretation of every vision and dream that you get.
To do otherwise is to walk dangerously.

I do believe in the rapture, however, I believe that there will be many surprised Christians who were convinced that they would be taken. I do not know when, God does. Therefore I do not try to speculate as to when.

  4. Tony, I had a dream about 3yrs ago, where I saw the early sun suddenly turn dark, the whole earth turned dark, the feeling in the dream was heavy fear among the people. This fear was after I heard crashing sounds. In this dream, I realized the bible spoke of this, however, I did not expect it to happen…

    1. Thank you Richard. I’ve always been uneasy over them as well, and as hard as I’ve tried to believe in it, scripture just tells me different. God Bless. 🙂

  5. [Greets, …True Christian Journey. Found this little gem on the web. Enjoy.]

    Margaret Macdonald’s Rapture Chart !

    “church” RAPTURE “church”
    (present age) (tribulation)

In early 1830 Margaret was the very first one to see a pre-Antichrist (pretribulation) rapture in the Bible – and John Walvoord and Hal Lindsey lend support for this claim!
Walvoord’s “Rapture Question” (1979) says her view resembles the “partial-rapture view” and Lindsey’s “The Rapture” (1983) admits that “she definitely teaches a partial rapture.”
But there’s more. Lindsey (p. 26) says that partial rapturists see only “spiritual” Christians in the rapture and “unspiritual” ones left behind to endure Antichrist’s trial. And Walvoord (p. 97) calls partial rapturists “pretribulationists”!
Margaret’s pretrib view was a partial rapture form of it since only those “filled with the Spirit” would be raptured before the revealing of the Antichrist. A few critics, who’ve been repeating more than researching, have noted “Church” in the tribulation section of her account. Since they haven’t known that all partial rapturists see “Church” on earth after their pretrib rapture (see the “church-splitting” chart above), they’ve wrongly assumed that Margaret was a posttrib!
In Sep. 1830 Edward Irving’s journal “The Morning Watch” (hereafter: TMW) was the first to publicly reflect her novel view when it saw spiritual “Philadelphia” raptured before “the great tribulation” and unspiritual “Laodicea” left on earth.
In Dec. 1830 John Darby (the so-called “father of dispensationalism” even though he wasn’t first on any crucial aspect of it!) was still defending the historic posttrib rapture view in the “Christian Herald.”
Pretrib didn’t spring from a “church/Israel” dichotomy, as many have assumed, but sprang from a “church/church” one, as we’ve seen, and was based only on symbols!
But innate anti-Jewishness soon appeared. (As noted, TMW in Sep. 1830 saw only less worthy church members left behind.) In Sep. 1832 TMW said that less worthy church members and “Jews” would be left behind. But by Mar. 1833 TMW was sure that only “Jews” would face the Antichrist!
As late as 1837 the non-dichotomous Darby saw the church “going in with Him to the marriage, to wit, with Jerusalem and the Jews.” And he didn’t clearly teach pretrib until 1839. His basis then was the Rev. 12:5 “man child…caught up” symbol he’d “borrowed” (without giving credit) from Irving who had been the first to use it for the same purpose in 1831!
For related articles Google “X-Raying Margaret,” “Edward Irving is Unnerving,” “Pretrib Rapture’s Missing Lines,” “The Unoriginal John Darby,” “Open Letter to Todd Strandberg,” “Deceiving and Being Deceived” by D.M., “Pretrib Rapture Pride,” “Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty” and “Scholars Weigh My Research.” The most documented and accurate book on pretrib rapture history is “The Rapture Plot” – a 300-pager that has hundreds of disarming facts (like the ones above) not found in any other source. 6. There is not going to be a ‘rapture.’ According to 1 Thessalonians 4:16-18 we going up and Christ’s return are a simultaneous event. There’s no hint of a ‘rapture’ beforehand.

    1 Thessalonians 4:16-18

16 For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. 17 After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. 18 Therefore encourage one another with these words.

    1. Quite so Kevin. (I was going to write the same in response to another post but we had a long power cut as the mains was burning underground.)

The authority for Paul’s statements in his 1st letter and his unwrapping them further in the 2nd letter is, ‘…we declare to you by THE LORD’S [OWN] WORD…’ (Amp Bible 1Thess4:15). Everything else hangs on this truth which came either direct to Paul from Jesus’ lips or from the other apostles.

So Jesus has stated that when He returns there will be a massive global resurrection of millions of deceased Christians who will not only somehow get out of their graves but also start flying upwards, having been changed in the ‘twinkling of an eye’ into revived, glorious bodies. Then and only then will ordinarily living believers be ‘airlifted’ out (or ‘beamed up’!).

To clarify, in the next letter Paul explains none of that will happen until AFTER the apostasy (Amp: ‘unless the predicted great falling away of those who have professed to be Christians has come’) within the churches and nations AND the son of perdition becomes publicly known and insolently stands against God and proclaims himself as such.

  7. Hi Brandy – did you have 2nd thoughts or problems over last week’s post Our Gathering Together With The Lord (‘follow-up’ to this one), as it’s no longer available? I was going to supportively comment today but notice my brief comments to July 4th Freedom post have been withdrawn, as well as another post. Please don’t think I’m offended, it’s your blog. I trust I’ve not unwittingly caused an issue. If so kindly accept my apology.

      1. Thanks Brandy but thought I’d better check as I wondered if there’d been some outside interference in view of international snooping issues!

      2. LOL – No not YET Richard as far as I know….but I have been getting some pretty strange followers and such. Keeping a close eye because as you know, persecution of truth speakers is on the rise. I’m trying to keep the blog site clean from certain things. And I’ve removed a bunch that just weren’t popular or doing anything. I’m struggling with finding that “wow” factor to keep people interested in bible teachings and such. Everyone today wants to be entertained you know 😉 Even thinking about starting a video series but I don’t know….Letting the Lord lead me. God bless 😉

  8. I am watching the Hiding Place, the story of Corrie ten Boom, from the time of the Nazi camps. True Christians have always faced persecution. Those that think life is easy with no challenges are fooling themselves. I hope we are all ready for what is coming soon.

  9. If pretribulation rapture is true, then how could the son of perdition war with the saints, when they would have been already snatched away????

Also when asked it was told that the ‘man of sin would have to be revealed’. In the Book of Daniel the man of sin is not going to be revealed for year-years and a half of a year, which depicts: year=1 week-year, years =2 week-years and ½ of a week-year= 6 months. Added together reveals the man of sin revealing will take place 3 ½ years…. So that would eliminate pretribulation rapture altogether from the picture…

    1. Jesus told us to WATCH….many times in the NT. Some people may be looking more at events than to Jesus, but for us true followers, they go hand in hand 😉

      1. I think that to say Jesus was telling us to watch events is the same as saying Jesus was telling us to watch golf. I believe it was far deeper than that. He was saying watch you don’t fall away.

    2. Hi Kevin,
In addition to Brandy’s sound reply, I’d add that getting engrossed with nuances of ET scripture can so easily take our eyes of Him, as well as off events we should be watching out for and understanding, especially now they’re accelerating. Eg, It’s important to be aware of what’s happening recently and seek the Lord about it. (You may like to check this> http://wp.me/p1Y1yB-4pr)

  10. [Hi Brandy. I also found this interesting little web piece. Enjoy. Lord bless.]
    Pretrib Rapture Pride
Pretrib rapture promoters like Thomas Ice give the impression they know more than the early Church Fathers, the Reformers, the greatest Greek New Testament scholars including those who produced the KJV Bible, the founders of their favorite Bible schools, and even their own mentors!
Ice’s mentor, Dallas Sem. president John Walvoord, couldn’t find anyone holding to pretrib before 1830 – and Walvoord called John Darby and his Brethren followers “the early pretribulationists” (RQ, pp. 160-62). Ice belittles Walvoord and claims that several pre-1830 persons, including “Pseudo-Ephraem” and a “Rev. Morgan Edwards,” taught a pretrib rapture. Even though the first one viewed Antichrist’s arrival as the only “imminent” event, Ice (and Grant Jeffrey) audaciously claim he expected an “imminent” pretrib rapture! And Ice (and John Bray) have covered up Edwards’ historicism which made a pretrib rapture impossible! Google “Morgan Edwards’ Rapture View” and journalist/historian Dave MacPherson’s “Deceiving and Being Deceived” for documentation on these and similar historical distortions.
The same pretrib defenders, when combing ancient books, deviously read “pretrib” into phrases like “before Armageddon,” “before the final conflagration,” and “escape all these things”!
BTW, the KJV translators’ other writings found in London’s famed British Library (where MacPherson has researched) don’t have even a hint of pretrib rapturism. Is it possible that Ice etc. have found pretrib “proof” in the KJV that its translators never found?
Pretrib merchandisers like Ice claim that nothing is better pretrib proof than Rev. 3:10. They also cover up “Famous Rapture Watchers” (on Google) which shows how the greatest Greek NT scholars of all time interpreted it.
Pretrib didn’t flourish in America much before the 1909 Scofield Bible which has pretribby “explanatory notes” in its margins. Not seen in the margins was jailed forger Scofield’s criminal record throughout his life that David Lutzweiler has documented in his recent book “The Praise of Folly” which is available online.
Biola University’s doctrinal statement says Christ’s return is “premillennial” and “before the Tribulation.” Although universities stand for “academic freedom,” Biola has added these narrow, restrictive phrases – non-essentials the founders purposely didn’t include in their original doctrinal statement when Biola was just a small Bible institute! And other Christian schools have also belittled their founders.
Ice, BTW, has a “Ph.D” issued by a tiny Texas school that wasn’t authorized to issue degrees! Ice now says that he’s working on another “Ph.D” via the University of Wales in Britain. For light on the degrees of Ice’s scholarliness, Google “Bogus degree scandal prompts calls to wind up University of Wales,” “Thomas Ice (Bloopers),” “be careful in polemics – Peripatetic Learning,” and “Walvoord Melts Ice.” Also Google “Thomas Ice (Hired Gun)” – featured by media luminary Joe Ortiz on his Jan. 30, 2013 “End Times Passover” blog.
Other fascinating Google articles include “The Unoriginal John Darby,” “X-raying Margaret,” “Margaret Macdonald’s Rapture Chart,” “Pretrib Rapture’s Missing Lines,” “Edward Irving is Unnerving,” “Pretrib Rapture Politics,” “Pretrib Rapture Secrets,” “Pretrib Rapture Dishonesty,” “Pretrib Hypocrisy,” “Pretrib Rapture Secrecy,” and “Roots of Warlike Christian Zionism” – most from the author of “The Rapture Plot” (the most accurate documentation on pretrib rapture history) which can be obtained by calling 800.643.4645.
Can anyone guess who the last proud pretrib rapture holdout will be?
(Postscript: For another jolt or two Google “The Background Obama Can’t Cover Up.”)

  11. This article is blasphemous. I’m not going to list all of the reasons why, but off the top of my head, saying that God needs enough evidence to bind Satan? God is omniscient, He doesn’t need anything – He can and will do whatever He pleases whenever He pleases. He has no limits (as you claim in your 1st point).

    1. He does have limits Kourtney, believe it or not. He can’t lie, deceive, or allow sin into Heaven. He is a JUST God. EVERYTHING he does is through justice. He can’t send someone to hell that has given their life to Jesus, and at the same time can’t let a satan worshiper into Heaven.

  12. Hello! My name is James Moody. This blogging thing is new to me. I have just completed my first attempt at setting up a website blog, and thought the best way to get others interested in my blog site is to comment on other blog sits, and this one caught my interest.
Just to let you know where I stand on some of these issues: For about eighteen years now It has been very clear to me that biblically the pre-tribulation rapture theory is a false teaching. Most of the Christian people I know of, including many prominent Bible scholars completely indorse and teach this theory as fact rather than theory, and that really concerns me.
There is a lot of debating about; will there be a rapture or not. I see plenty of biblical evidence that born again believers will be changed receiving a glorified eternal body. Whether the word “rapture” is a proper title for that event or not may possibly be a debatable subject, but clearly we will be changed, and that is biblical.
In my opinion all four of the popular rapture theories are actually pre-wrath theories. The difference between each of these is their belief as to when wrath will begin in relation to the seventieth week of Daniel (the seven years we call the tribulation). Jesus called the period of time beginning with the abomination of desolation a time of great tribulation. Even though the Bible never says how long great tribulation will last, it is assumed, by most that it will last three and one half years, but is that assumption accurate?
My studies reveal that great tribulation will last about two and one half years followed by about one year of wrath which will complete those seven-years. My studies also reveal many other very different views of those seven years including a very different view of the seals, trumpets and vials. Those findings conclude that all of God’s wrath will be confined to the seventh years of those seven years. This theory allows plenty of time for all of the other prophecies of those seven years including persecution of the saints to occur without having to excuse them away. I call this theory “the Pre-Seventh-Year Rapture Theory”.

  13. The Blessed Hope is the grace of God in action.
If you deny being totally saved ONLY by Grace through Faith in Jesus,
then you Cannot understand the grace of God through the Blessed Hope.
If you are saved through grace Plus works, you cannot understand the Blessed Hope.
If you “hope to persevere til the end”, you cannot understand,
    1 Thessalonians 5:9-11
9 For God hath not appointed us to wrath, but to obtain salvation by our Lord Jesus Christ, (the day of the lord is the wrath of God pored out on the entire world)
10 Who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.
11 Wherefore comfort yourselves together, and edify one another, even as also ye do.
If you do not understand the difference between, The Day of Christ and The day of the Lord, you are reading corrupted satanic bible versions and Cannot understand the Blessed Hope.
Lordship Salvation-ism and prideful works, Cannot understand,
The simplicity that is in Christ Jesus, “For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God:
Not of works, lest any man should boast”,. and the Blessed Hope.
If you are “saved” by grace plus works,
    then
you will get your wish from God to prove how “worthy” you are, through the tribulation and the wrath of God.

    1. There is a difference between the time of trouble (tribulation) and God’s wrath. Read the prophesies in Full and together, maybe then you will see what the rest of the faithful Christians are awakening to my friend.

      1. Your arrogance and self deception is sad.I have my king James Bible and the Holy Spirit.
In the King James-the day of Christ and the day of the Lord are Not the same.I choose the spirit of truth and Not “another” gospel.
Fare thee well in Jesus Mighty name.

      2. The Faithful Servant and the Evil Servant

  14. Hello Brandy and saintinlight!
This is quite a debate that you two have going. If I may, I would like to add some fuel to the fire. Just kidding! But, I would like to add some of my thoughts. The subject of the day of Christ and the day of the Lord; are they different, or are they the same?
The term “day of Christ” or in other similar form is used seven times in the New Testament. Each of these is referring to when Christ comes to gather His saints (the rapture). This is clearly confirmed in 2 Thessalonians 2:1-2 “… by the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, and by our gathering together unto him [the rapture]… as that the day of Christ is at hand.” His wrath will begin either at the moment of the rapture or soon after, because one purpose of the rapture is to rescue us from His wrath.
For the pre-trib position “the day of Christ” cannot be the same event as “the day of the Lord”, because within that position “the day of the Lord” does not begin until the end of the seven years called the tribulation. Also, for the same reason within that position “the day of wrath” and “the day of vengeance” have to be a separate event from “the day of the Lord”. However, there is a serious problem with that position because of: Isaiah 13:9 “Behold the day of the Lord cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger…”
The second coming of Christ is a two-fold event; because at some point in time after the rapture; Zechariah 14:4 “And his feet shall stand in that day [the day of the Lord] upon the mount of Olives.” The length of time between these two events is a greatly debated subject. My calculations reveal that the period of time between the first phase and the second phase of His return is about a fifteen day period of time.
Jesus Christ is the Lord; therefore, “the day of the Lord” includes “the day of Christ”, “the day of wrath”, and “the day of vengeance.” Where the scriptures have led me is that God’s wrath will be confined to the seventh and final year of those last seven years. I call this the pre-seventh-year rapture theory. If any of this has got your attention, you might want to read more about it on my new website blog — rapturetheoryanew.com — I would love to hear some of your comments about those articles.
Note: I do have a few thoughts about “the blessed hope” (Titus 2:13); but, I think I will save them for another time.
    God bless both of you.

    1. I don’t debate anyone on this subject anymore because it’s one of those controversial subjects that it appears everyone has an opinion on. I write these blogs to teach what I know based on scripture and studying Hebrew and Greek, and if people don’t agree with my teachings, they can express as they wish and move on. I’ve had every debate on every theory on this subject and NO ONE has convinced me of anything other than what was said in this blog – which is completely based on biblical teachings….my position stands so I’ll let you guys argue it out.

      1. Amen Brandy i do not believe in pre trib! Because I do believe Christians tribulation are happening now ! We can no longer have the freedom to go out and street preach.have the 10 Commandants in out court rooms ! God has almost been deletete in this whole land! I totally agree that He can leads us to the truth of His world !!! Most churches have fallen into false hood of many kinds just not to offend ! No true Gospel of Christ preached in many many churches ! Just tickling ears is what they are doing !!!!! W e NEED to seek and Study OUR BIBLES while prayin GOD opens our eyes ! I have seen many things God has opened my eyes too! Seek and you shall find ! I often wondered in the begeniing pf my studies about America in prophecy and before my eyes I know realize that the only way was to to get america to except the MUSLIMS and their religion ! Which is now happening on a big level! We are to study Gods word and believe and trust that HE alone knows the day and time …. As a believer we have to watch.,
keep our Lamp filled and warn ! God purpose in our lifes gifts are all different than others We must also reach un believers with the Gospel of Jesus Only ! !

  15. Hello Brandy:

Arguing is not my style. I simply say what I believe the scriptures are telling me, and if any one agrees or disagrees that is up to them. Everyone is welcome to their own opinion. I assume from your remarks that you disagree with what I said about the day of the Lord as compared with the day of Christ, and that is OK.
I have been looking through your writings, but so far I have not found what you have to say on that subject. Perhaps I missed it. I like the fact that you have a strong passion for end-times Bible prophecy, as I do also. I would like to hear you thoughts on that subject, even if we don’t agree.

God bless, and keep up the good work.

  16. Whether or not the day of Christ or the day of the Lord are one and the same is of no consequence. The question to be asked is what is the tribulation period…..is it God’s wrath? If you say it is, then you believe God murders His own followers…..as stated in my blog – “tribulation” is literally translated, and means “persecution”. If you however see “the time of trouble” (meaning the last 3.5 years of the 7 years) as Satan’s wrath on God’s people – then the pretrib makes not a lick of sense. I would ask you to carefully read this blog again, study it, and ask God to reveal HIS truth to you, not which we conjure up ourselves. Read it with an open heart and mind, and see if it makes sense to you. God bless.

    1. The truth does matter and also understanding the ways and wiles of our ADVERSARY-the Devil.
All modern Satanic bible perversions of the Word of God-Corrupt The Day of Christ or the Blessed hope.
In the King James Bible, The Day of Christ is mentioned Only 3 times-by Paul.
It Is Not the Day of the Lord.
This is just one of Many corruptions and deceptions caused by the devil to confuse and cause dis-unity in the Body of Christ.
It Is one of the mystery’s God revealed to Paul-ONLY.
So he could preach it to the gentiles..Paul said “follow me, for I follow Christ”.
The mystery of the Age of Grace and the dispensation of grace is another mystery revealed to Paul.
Be blessed in Jesus mighty name. 🙂

  17. Hi Brandy:
Just to clarify: My title “Preseventh” is not pre-trib, it is Pre- SevenTH, meaning that my position is; the rapture will likely occur near the beginning of the seventh year.
I agree that Satan’s wrath is about persecution of born-again believers (biblically referred to as “war with the saints” Revelation 13:7). Jesus referred to it as great tribulation (Matthew 24:21). I also agree with you that the rapture will occur when great tribulation ends (Matthew 24:29-31).
However, where the scriptures have led me is that the days of great tribulation will be shortened, “for the elect’s sake” (Matthew 24:22), by one full year, allowing time for God’s wrath to occur before those seven year end. One of the purposes of the seventy weeks of years is “to make an end of sins” (Daniel 9:24).
Isaiah 13:9 “Behold, the day of the LORD cometh, cruel both with wrath and fierce anger… and he shall destroy the sinners therefore out of it.”
My view is that Christ returns, in the clouds near the end of the sixth year to rescue us from His wrath that also begins to occur at that same time. That is also the beginning of the day of the Lord and the beginning of the seventh year. This is very different form the other popular theories; but, to me, being popular is not nearly important as seeking truth.

    Have a blessed day

    1. There might be something to that preseventh. Ive often pondered the verse in Daniel that talks about the abomination and “blessed is he who waits until 1335 days”….

  18. Hi Brandy:

If Matthew 24:31 is referring to the rapture, then it nullifies the pre-tribulation rapture theory. Therefore, they have to call it something other than the rapture; thus, they say it is the re-gathering of Israel.

    Question:
Is Matthew 24:31 referring to the rapture or the re-gathering of Israel?

For answers to this question; compare the following verses:

Matthew 24:29-31 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of heaven shall be shaken [this is wrath]. And then shall appear the sign of the son of man in heaven: and then shall the tribes of the earth morn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory, And he shall send his angels with the great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
Zephaniah 1:14–16 The great day of the LORD is near … That day is a day of wrath, a day of trouble and distress, a day of wasteness and desolation, a day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness, A day of the trumpet.
1 Thessalonians 4:16–17 For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first: Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
1 Corinthians 15:52 In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.

Notice the trumpet in each of these four verses, and then compare these verses with these verses:

Luke 21:25-28 And there shall be signs in the sun, and in the moon, and in the stars; and upon the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; Men’s hearts failing them for fear, and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth: for the powers of heaven shall be shaken. And then shall they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory. And when these things begin to come to pass, then look up, and lift up your heads; for your redemption draweth nigh.
“Your redemption” is the rapture. Notice that it occurs “when these things begin to come to pass”, and compare those conditions with the conditions that occur “immediately after the tribulation of those days” (Matthew 24:31). Also compare Ezekiel 38:18-20 and Isaiah 13:8-10 with these verses.

Some say that “gather his elect” (Matthew 24:31) is not referring to the rapture; but, it is referring to the re-gathering of Israel in the Promised Land. Yet, the condition of the sun, moon and stars being darkened is an event described when the fourth and fifth trumpets sounded. Therefore, the events of the vials and the Battle of Armageddon will not have yet occurred.

What did Ezekiel say the condition of the Promised Land would be when God re-gathers Israel there?

Ezekiel 36:24–35 For I will take you from among the heathen, and gather you out of all countries, and will bring you into your own land. Then will I sprinkle clean water [probably living water] upon you, and ye shall be clean: from all your filthiness, and from all your idols, will I cleanse you. A new heart also will I give you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you an heart of flesh. And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them. And ye shall dwell in the land that I gave your fathers; and ye shall be my people, and I will be your God… Thus saith the Lord God; In the day that I shall have cleansed you from all your iniquities I will also cause you to dwell in the cities, and the wastes shall be builded. And the desolate land shall be tilled, whereas it lay desolate in the site of all that passed by. And they shall say, This land that was desolate is become like the garden of Eden…

When Israel is re-gathered, the Promised Land will be “like the garden of Eden”. For more biblical support; see Isaiah 51:3. It will not be a time when the sun, moon, and stars are darkened. Those are conditions that will occur during God’s wrath. Also notice that all of this is occurring “immediately after the tribulation”, which is referring to the time of “great tribulation” (Matthew 24:21). But, this is not the end of the seventieth week of Daniel.

Note: The 1,335 days of Daniel 12:12 is likely referring to the re-gathering of Israel.

    Have a blessed day

    1. Once again I thank you for your insight, however, you are missing the biggest book regarding the end days – REVELATION. Once you can put all of these books together – these prophecies, figure out HOW they tie in to Revelation, then we might agree. The way I see it – we will be pulled up 6th seal of revelation (we are currently in the 3rd and moving into the 4th)- God’s wrath starts with the trumpets. Peace!

  19. Brandy

My last comment was NOT support for the pre-tribulation rapture theory. It was just the opposite. Please check out my website (rapturetheoryanew.com) and you will see that the book of Revelation is very much a part of my studies.

    Bod bless

  20. My learnings have taught me the words “cloud” and “air” are not accurate in the English translation. Study it in Greek and Hebrew (Strong’s Concordance) and you will find a whole different meaning of what the “gathering” is all about. You will instantly understand what the scripture says and what actually will occur. Do your homework.

Stay strong, stay aware, stay educated, stay with the timeline given to us. Endure to the end wherever the end may be. It is one of His commandments. That should be first and foremost. Don’t be decieved, don’t think Satan won’t try, don’t think it won’t happen in your lifetime, don’t think you are immune. Wear your armor at all times. Know your warnings.

    1. Thanks for that David. I have looked into and studied air and clouds and am confused by your comment. I must be missing something, please do enlighten me as to what you are talking about.

  21. Have you never read or searched the scriptures? For if you had then you would know for sure what is to come! Sripture is very clear: The antichrist comes on the 6th trumpet while the Lord Jesus the Christ of Nazareth returns on the “LAST” the sound of the last trumpet! People don’t make this hard. Just start reading the scriptures for yourself (KJV) to show yourself approved. If as people contend that we will be whizzed away before the tribulation begins, then how do you explain
    REVELATION 20:4-
“And I saw thrones, and they sat upon them, and judgement was given unto them: and I saw the souls of them that were beheaded for the witness of Jesus, and for the word of God, and which had not worshipped the beast, neither his image, neither had recieved his mark upon their foreheads, or in their hands; and they lived and reigned with Christ a thousand years” UNQUOTE
People simply haven’t been reading their Bibles.

    1. Buddy does my blog not address your first question about reading or searching scripture? I’m sorry you are deceived into believing the lie of the PTR. And please, when your “theory” or “interpretation” disagrees with someone, please don’t accuse them of NOT reading, searching, or studying. When we become unteachable is when we lose our way. God bless.

  22. Brandy,
You are sadly mistaken and have wrongly assumed that I support the ” Pre-tribulation ” rapture lie. My comment on your blog clearly states that we will go through the tribulation as Jesus describes in detail in Matthew 24. The antichrist sole purpose in rising to power is specifically to make war with the saints. PEOPLE NEED TO START READING THEIR BIBLES FOR THEMSELVES. (KJV) I thank you for this opportunity to have been able to post a comment. No further comment is required as the ” APOSTASY ” is great.

  23. Thank you sister for your work in preaching the truth!
Here’s a summary I put together to hand out to people in hopes that some would see.

THE LAST TRUMP, THE LAST DAY, THE RESURRECTION AND THE RAPTURE.

The scripture below tells us clearly that the rapture occurs at the LAST TRUMP.

    1 Corinthians 15:52
In a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, AT THE LAST TRUMP: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible{RESURRECTION}, and we shall be changed.

    The Seventh And Last Trumpet
Rev 11:15 And the seventh angel sounded{LAST TRUMP / LAST DAY}; and there were great voices in heaven, saying, The kingdoms of this world are become the kingdoms of our Lord {SECOND COMING}, and of his Christ; and he shall reign for ever and ever. 16And the four and twenty elders, which sat before God on their seats, fell upon their faces, and worshiped God, 17Saying, We give thee thanks, O Lord God Almighty, which art, and wast, and art to come; because thou hast taken to thee thy great power, and hast reigned. 18And the nations were angry, and thy wrath is come{GODS WRATH APPEARS}, and the time of the dead {THE RESURRECTION}, that they should be judged, and that thou shouldest give reward unto thy servants the prophets, and to the saints, and them that fear thy name, small and great; and shouldest destroy them which destroy the earth.

The scripture above clearly shows a transition from the LAST DAY of this age into the first day of the reign of Christ.

Christ tells us 4 times in John 6 that the RESURRECTION happens on the LAST DAY!
    v39 ….the LAST DAY v40 ….the LAST DAY v44 ….the LAST DAY v54 ….the LAST DAY

That is a lot of emphasis given by Christ about the timing of the resurrection!

Martha even confirms it in John 11:24 ….I know that he shall rise again in the RESURRECTION at the LAST DAY.

Paul tells us in 1 Thess 4:16 that the dead shall rise first!
….and with the trump of God{LAST TRUMP / LAST DAY}: and the dead in Christ shall rise first{RESURRECTION OF THE DEAD ON THE LAST DAY}:17 Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together {RAPTURE} with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.

In Matthew 24:29 Christ told us IMMEDIATELY AFTER THE TRIBULATION OF THOSE DAYS He would return.
Paul confirmed this in 1 Thess 4:15 For this we say unto you BY THE WORD OF THE LORD.

Lets compare their words. Paul’s words are in parentheses.
Matthew 24:29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken: 30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man{v16 Lord Himself shall descend} coming in the clouds {v17 in the clouds} of heaven with power and great glory. 31 And he shall send his angels {v16 archangel} with a great sound of a trumpet {v16 trump of God}, and they shall gather together his elect {v17 caught up} from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.

Paul was paraphrasing Christ’s words and therefore is it total agreement with a post tribulation rapture of the church.

It is a very dangerous thing to dismiss the clearly spoken words of Christ, the Spirit of prophecy to maintain a pre tribulation rapture point of view!

  24. Tom:
In response to your recent comment I would like to say that in my opinion you are very accurate in most of your conclusions that relate to the timing of the rapture. My studies have revealed that of the three most popular rapture theories the post-tribulation rapture theory is the closest of those three to being accurate.

If I may, I would like to make a point:
In Matthew 24:29 when Jesus said “immediately after the tribulation”, He was referring to the period of time that He just described as a time of “great tribulation” (Matthew 24:21). The abomination of desolation will mark the beginning of the period of time He referred to as great tribulation (Matthew 24:15).

Here is the thing though; the Bible never says how long the time of great tribulation will last, or when it will end. It is an assumption by most all Bible scholars that the great tribulation will last until the end of the seventieth week of Daniel; yet, biblically it has to end and the day of the Lord has to begin before those seven years can end.

You see when we look back at the purpose of those seventy weeks of years (Daniel 9:24), we find that one of the main purposes of that period of time is “to make an end of sin”. When we read Isaiah 13:9 we find that “the day of the Lord cometh both with wrath and fierce anger… and he shall destroy the sinners thereof out of it”. Therefore, great tribulation has to end and the day of the Lord has to begin before those seven years can end.

You and Brandy are both absolutely right when you make the point that great tribulation is not about God’s wrath; it is about Satan’s wrath which is persecution of the saints. Thus, the rapture will end the persecution of the saints and rescue the saints from God’s wrath that will occur “immediately after” that great “tribulation”.

From the beginning of God’s wrath there are event that cover periods of time that must be accounted for before those seven years can end. According to my calculation those event will consume one complete prophetic year. Therefore, I call this the Pre-Seventh Year Rapture Theory. This could also be called a post-great tribulation rapture theory.

The future seventieth week of Daniel is commonly referred to as the seven years of the tribulation. The pre-seventh year refers to the end of the sixth and the beginning of the seventh year of those seven years. Think about this: If the first year of those seven years begins with the first trumpet, then the seventh year would begin with the seventh and last trumpet. Now, how does that fit in with your comments?

If you would like to know more about this theory; please see my website blog at rapturetheoryanew.com.

May God’s richest blessings be with each of you always.

    James Moody

  25. I would like to understand what the scripture means that talks about “unless those days be shortened”. I’ve never read any scriptural definition of that, only where people believe that the days will be shorter than 24 hours, or the number of days shortened. How can they be shortened when God gave the number of days specifically? I’d love to hear your thoughts on this. Thanks

    1. Good question Dee. I believe this verse ties in with another chapter in scripture – Daniel 12. Notice both chapters (Mark 13) and Daniel 12 speak of the abomination of desolation being set up. We all know this to be in the middle of the tribulation period (the 7 years) – where the son of perdition is revealed – and his image stands in the Holy place – replacing God. Now if that time (mid trib) 1,290 days have passed from the beginning of the 7 years to the middle – we know that’s 3.5 years. Specifically in Daniel 12:12 – The verse says “Blessed is he who waits, and comes to the one thousand three hundred and thirty-five days.” 1,335 days into the 7 years would be 45 days AFTER mid trib. 45 days – or a month and 1/2 – of severe persecution globally. Why would scripture say one is blessed who waits and comes to that day? I believe it’s because THAT is when the rapture of the church will occur. THAT is when Jesus is returning – otherwise, why would it say one is blessed if they get that far? I believe the remainder of the 7 years after that is God’s wrath – which we are not meant for. The seals had already been broken and now it’s time for the trumpets and bowl judgments. That’s my understanding of the last days prophecy. Would make sense too if we look at our world today. Wouldn’t be far off from what the Jews had endured in Europe with the Germans in WW2. Only takes a day or 2 to gas and murder or even shoot thousands. I believe the elect are so few anyway compared to the worlds population – this would not be a difficult task to just about wipe all of them out. This is why the Lord must shorten the days of the Trib period – for the elects sake.

I hope that all makes sense for you. Let me know. Read Mark 13 starting at v. 14, then Daniel 12 and see if that makes sense to you. I’d love to hear if you see something I don’t. God bless. 😀

  26. The Resurrection of the Dead in Christ and the Rapture of the Alive in Christ happens at 6th Vial Judgement, Rev. 16:15 “Behold! I come as a Thief!…”

This is supported clearly by this Scripture:

Rev. 21:9 “And there came unto me one of the seven angels which had the seven vials full of the seven last plagues and said to me, “Come, I will show you the Bride….”

  27. Brandy, I agree with your statement that we may not know the exact day. In contrast to not knowing the exact day are several Scriptures pointing to an exact day, a day that tribulation believers can know for sure. The exact day after the tribulation is given in various ways (1260 days, 42 months, and time, times, and half a time). Because of such a contrast between a known day and an unknown day, I conclude that there must be two different days. Is that not a logical conclusion? A fuller explanation of this logic may be found at http://www.rapturesolution.com/beechick/Book/Day.htm.

    1. Hello; my name is James Moody:

The following is my take of time during the seventieth week of Daniel 9:27 (the seven year commonly referred to as the tribulation).

Trying to use our secular calendar (the Gregorian calendar) to calculate biblical periods of time does not work. The manner in which periods of time are written about Biblically, and our understanding of them, can have a major effect on how we interpret prophecies. Biblically there are two main systems of keeping up with time:

      (1) The Hebrew calendar system is a lunar-solar calendar system. There are about twenty nine and one-half days in a lunar (moon) month. A normal Hebrew year is twelve lunar months (about 354 days); therefore, every two to three years an additional thirteenth month is added to catch up with the seasons. Also, their twenty-four-hour day begins at sundown.

The schedule of God’s appointed feast days is based on the Hebrew calendar system. When the Bible uses the word “month” in relation to Hebrew feast days or times of worship, it is usually referring to lunar months.

      (2) Prophetic time: Also in prophecy, when the Bible is not referring to Hebrew feast days or times of worship, then the word “month” can be referring to prophetic time as in the books of Daniel and Revelation. There are thirty days in a prophetic month. A normal prophetic year is twelve of these thirty-day months (360 days). A (360 day) prophetic year is also shorter than a solar year; therefore, every six to seven years it becomes necessary to add an additional thirty-day month to catch up with the seasons (390 days).

Confused? If so, you are not alone, because the only calendar most of us have ever used is the Gregorian calendar which is a solar calendar. Therefore, some basic understanding of these calendar systems is necessary when calculating Biblical periods of time.

      Symbolic periods of time

In some instances prophetic time is written in symbolic form rather than in numeric form. The following is one of several examples of symbolic language being defined Biblically.

Daniel 12:7 …it shall be for a time, times, and an half; and when he shall have accomplished to scatter the power of the holy people, all these things shall be finished.

In this verse the symbolic language “a time, times, and an half” is used. Then in the following verse:

Daniel 12:8 And I heard, but I understood not: then said I, O my Lord, what shall be the end of these things?

Even Daniel did not know what was meant by this symbolic language. Then after asking it was revealed to Daniel.

Daniel 12:11 And from the time that the daily sacrifice shall be taken away, and the abomination that maketh desolate set up, there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.

Therefore from the time the false Christ commits the abomination of desolation (“in the midst of the week” Daniel 9:27) “there shall be a thousand two hundred and ninety days.” Notice: “and these things shall be finished” (verse 7) which refers to the completion of the seventy weeks of years (Daniel 9:24).

Three and one-half normal prophetic years are 1,260 days (42 prophetic months), but these three and one-half years will not be normal prophetic years; these have 1,290 days, because an additional thirty-day month will be added to them to catch up with the seasons. Therefore these 1,290 days are forty-three prophetic months.

This is a huge tool we can use because, in prophecy, when we see the symbolic language “time, times and half time” or, in other similar forms, we can know that it refers to the last 1,290 days of the seventieth week of Daniel.

Also when we see three and one-half years written in literal form 1,260 days or in the form a thousand two hundred and threescore (sixty) days, or forty-two months, we can know that it refers to the first 1,260 days of the seventieth week of Daniel (the first 42-prophetic months).

      For example:

Revelation 12:6 And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.

Therefore, these events “the woman… they should feed her there” will occur throughout the first 1,260 days (42 prophetic months) of those seven years.

Revelation 12:14 And the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half time, from the face of the serpent.

Also, the event “where she is nourished” will occur throughout the last 1,290 days (43 prophetic months) of those seven years. This clarifies the time of some of the events described in the verses between these two verses. These are events that occur at the end of the first 1,260 days and the beginning of the last 1,290 days.

Revelation 12:9 And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan, which deceived the whole world; he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.

[10] … for the accuser of our brethren is cast down, which accused them before our God day and night.

Revelation 12:12 Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath [anger], because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.

Satan and his demons will be cast out of heaven where they accuse the brethren “before our God day and night”. They will no longer have access to heaven. Satan will then cause the false Christ to commit the abomination of desolation “in the midst of the week” (Daniel 9:27).

      Another example:

Daniel 7:25 And he shall speak great words against the most High, and shall wear out the saints of the most High, and think to change times and laws: and they shall be given into his hand until a time and times and the dividing of time.

Some of the events in this verse are the same events that are described in:

Revelation 13:5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given him to continue forty and two months.

Notice in this verse “a mouth speaking great things” and “power was given him” [the false Christ] “to continue forty and two months” (the first 1,260 days). Now compare that with Daniel 7:25 “shall speak great words” and “shall be given into his” [the false Christ] “hand until a time and times and the dividing of time”. The word “until” in this verse means, up to the time of. Therefore the proceeding events of that verse will occur up to the time that the last 1,290 days begin.

Another reason we know the “forty and two months” in Revelation 13:5 is referring to the first 1,260 days is because the following verse is the false Christ committing the abomination of desolation, which occurs in the midst of the week.

Revelation 13:6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

This following verse is him making war with the saints.

Revelation 13:7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints…

This “war with the saints” is simply another title for “the great tribulation” Jesus referred to in Matthew 24:21. If anyone is interested; I also have and in-depth study on this subject.

The events in the following verses also occur during the first 1,260 days.

Revelation 11:2 …and the holy city shall they tread under foot forty and two months.

[3] And I will give power unto my two witnesses, and they shall prophesy a thousand two hundred and threescore days, clothed in sackcloth.

The clarifying of this symbolic language is only one of several others that I have been able to find. The Bible is the best commentary for the Bible. Therefore, when we find these it is kind of like finding a golden nugget.

      1. I really value your thorough examination of the days, months, and years, because it looks at all the Scriptures involved. I agree that the the 30-day month is the month in prophecy. Personally, I lean toward starting both the 1260 days and the 1290 days at the abomination of desolation in the middle of Daniel’s 70th week (http://www.rapturesolution.com/beechick/Book/First.htm#dan12), but I won’t quibble about that point. The main point I get out of these days, and their count, however you slice it, is that believers during that time can count the days. That means they can know the day of Christ’s return. That is opposite to us, during this time, who do not know the day of His return. That indicates two times. One time is known. The other time is not known. Even if you were to say that tribulation saints can know only the approximate time, let’s say to within a few days, that still is opposite to Matthew 24:44, “Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.” It is for this reason, and others, that I have come to believe in a pre-tribulation rapture. It is not so much proving a pre-tribulation rapture. It is more disproving a post-tribulation rapture. The known day and the unknown day cannot be the same day.
